Parts and labor eligibility
- Labor reimbursement: Retail compensation, including reasonable diagnostics and supported extra-time protections.
- Parts reimbursement: Retail compensation.
- Coverage: Specified heavy vehicles over 26,001 pounds have additional retrieval, tool and time protections under (j).
- Special parts: Supplied no-cost parts have a separate catalog-cost markup rule under (m)(3).
State requirements
- Maximum RO age: Repairs within 180 days before submission.
- Qualifying RO sample: 100 sequential qualifying nonwarranty customer-paid ROs.
- Alternative sample period: 90 consecutive days of qualifying ROs.
- Sample selection rule: Either sample; no statutory lesser-of rule.
- Manufacturer response: Approval or rebuttal within 30 days; silence means approval.
- Rate effective date: 30 days after approval.
- Request frequency: Each rate declaration at least 12 months after the last declaration for that rate.
Statutory exclusions
- Manufacturer/distributor promotions and discounted campaigns.
- Wholesale parts.
- Routine maintenance not covered by a retail customer warranty, including bulbs and batteries not provided during repairs.
- Items without individual part numbers.
- Tires.
- Vehicle reconditioning.
