North Carolina warranty reimbursement requirements
Parts and labor eligibility
- Labor reimbursement: Retail compensation; reasonable diagnostic/repair time and extra-time protections.
- Parts reimbursement: Retail compensation; motor-home living-facility parts have separate treatment.
State requirements
- Maximum RO age: 180 days before submission.
- Qualifying RO sample: 100 sequential qualifying customer-paid ROs.
- Alternative sample period: 60 consecutive days of qualifying ROs.
- Sample selection rule: Whichever produces fewer ROs.
- Manufacturer response: Rebuttal within 30 days; proposed adjustment within 30 days after audit and no later than 60 days after submission.
Undisputed rate-effective timing and request frequency remain unverified.
Statutory exclusions
- Manufacturer/distributor promotions and discounted campaigns.
- Wholesale or specially negotiated insurance parts.
- Engine and transmission assemblies.
- Specified maintenance outside repairs, including fluids, filters, alignments, flushes, oil, belts and brakes.
- Items without individual part numbers.
- Tires and vehicle alignments.
- Vehicle reconditioning.
- Batteries and light bulbs.
