Louisiana warranty reimbursement requirements
Parts and labor eligibility
- Labor reimbursement: Retail compensation for covered warranty, recall and certified-preowned repairs; adequate time allowances.
- Parts reimbursement: Retail compensation for covered warranty, recall and certified-preowned repairs.
- Coverage: Subsection C excludes marine products, motorcycles, ATVs and recreational vehicles; recreational-product contracts require separate review.
State requirements
- Maximum RO age: Repairs within 180 days before submission.
- Qualifying RO sample: All consecutive ROs containing 100 qualifying ROs.
- Alternative sample period: All ROs closed over 90 consecutive days.
- Sample selection rule: Whichever produces fewer ROs.
- Manufacturer response: 45-day rebuttal period; permitted supplemental records can trigger another 45-day review.
- Rate effective date: 45 days after receipt for undisputed rates.
- Request frequency: Once per 12 months for either or both rates.

- Manufacturer/distributor promotions and discounted campaigns.
- Wholesale parts.
- Dealer- or employee-owned vehicles.
- Enumerated routine maintenance.
- Accessory installations.
- Tire/wheel work and brake replacement.
- Vehicle reconditioning.
- Legally required safety or emissions inspections.
- Government, insurer or service-contract volume discounts.
- Items without individual part numbers.
- Manufacturer-approved goodwill or policy repairs.
- Window replacement, etching, tinting and protective-film work.
- Body repairs for collision, road-hazard, weather, vandalism, theft or other specified damage.
